MARK KAPLAN

Mark Kaplan has been consulting since 1986, and with Global OD Solutions since 2004. He has advised numerous organizations in the
areas of management development, executive coaching and development, team
building and group dynamics, organizational assessment, and diversity
management, assessment and strategy development.
He has worked with many organizations, including: AT&T/Bell Labs, Baxter
International, Booz Allen Hamilton, Comcast, Environmental Leadership Program,
CIGNA, Cincinnati Gas & Electric, Freddie Mac, GLAAD, Lucent, M&T Bank,
MTV, New England Aquarium, The Prudential, Showtime, Tropicana, United Nations
Development Programme, University of Pennsylvania, Wachovia, Vanguard Financial
and others. He has worked on four continents, in many environments, and with all levels of management.
Mark’s primary interest is in working at and across boundaries. His work with issues of diversity has helped
to expand his perspective and skills in working across difference. He is well grounded in the theory and
practice of managing diversity and is always looking for opportunities to apply
those perspectives as broadly as possible. Recently, he has been working with university and environmental
organizations and their leadership to build diversity competencies and
strategies.
While his work focuses on diversity, change management and leadership development in the
broad sense, he was a pioneer in assisting organization to integrate sexual
orientation into diversity initiatives. As a result of being a leader in the field, he has been published in two
books: The Diversity Factor and The Promise of Diversity and quoted in The New York Times and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
His articles have appeared in leading business magazines. He has addressed the
national conferences of The American Management Association, LEAGUE, National
Multicultural Institute, Organization Development Network, Society for Human
Resource Management and others.
Mark received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology at the University of Florida and a Masters in Human Resource
Development at Villanova. He has received significant training at National Training Labs and has completed The
Domestic and International Organization and Systems Development Programs at The
Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. Mark lives in Philadelphia.
